It used to be difficult to get a torque CD. When Robb Flynn and Sean Killian left my favorite thrash band Vio-Lence the rest of the band recorded an album together called Torque with Phil Demmel on vocals. It's heavy groove metal with a touch of thrash and hardcore. It's not too far from what Flynn himself invented for Machine Head's first album, but a little bit of unabashed Metal. Not much was distributed, so the CD wasn't in high demand. But with Machine Head's recent split, Demmel has taken on other projects, one of which was the return of the Torque album. It's great to see that it's available and with a much better sound than before. Hopefully we'll get new material from Vio-Lence too!
