Connectivity nightmare Updated to work as expected

Review Updated on 11/15/21 I was *finally* able to connect this device to my Wi-Fi network. I've never been able to get an Android app to work on any of my phones or tablets, but then I remembered that Android apps on Chromebooks and Bingo! running, the connection was successful and the device was added from the Chromebook, it showed up in the app on all my other devices. In any case, now that the application actually works, I can report that it works well. You have the option to set up notifications when the air quality exceeds the parameters you set, which I think is probably the most useful feature. This monitor is constantly measuring the air and through the app I can view graphs of air quality by category and daily and monthly temperature and humidity to see if there are times of the day when the quality is degrading. I suspected I had an air quality problem in my attic room, but apparently not. See screenshots of the application. I like that the monitor has limited portability as it can be unplugged and taken anywhere I need it, such as to my workshop when working with (moderately) hazardous materials such as spray paint. . The battery lasts about 50 minutes, so this is a useful feature. The monitor now reconnects to my network with no problems so after fixing the initial connection issues it seems to be working exactly as I hoped. I feel like I can now recommend this Air Monitor and have upgraded my rating accordingly to 4 stars with one star deducted for initial setup issues. ================= ==== ==== == Original review - October 29, 2021 I would like to write an informative review for this device, but I have had major problems Trying to connect the device/app to my wifi router with endless obscure error messages, and then when I finally managed another error that the device couldn't contact its server (I think) with another obscure xxxx error message (see photo). My wifi is not the problem as everything else is working fine. The monitor appears to be in manual mode and is showing air quality readings, but I have no way of verifying that they are correct, so I guess I have to take them at face value. However, many features are app-dependent and without them, usability suffers. So I'm giving it 2 stars for now, but if there's an app update or the server suddenly goes down, I'll update my rating. upset.

Pros
  • CONNECTED WITH ALEXA AND IFTTT - Works with Alexa. Additionally, you can control and manage your air quality monitor by interacting with IoT peripherals via IFTTT.
Cons
