Review on 🔒 Sunlite MX1000 Aluminum Brake Set Rear/Front with Bolts in Black by Olusola Edwards

This brake kit is a good addition to kids bikes with foot brakes. I added it as an extra rear brake to the footbrake on a 16" bike so my 5 year old could have a handbrake to practice on. It's a bit big for a 5 year old though. Because the leverage is too big for their small hands. The other issue I have is that the lever really only fits on the right side, which is usually the rear brake. To install the lever on the left side, the lever must be installed upside down so that the lever clamp and screws are exposed. So it's better to get the left side lever separately if that bothers you. Also, the lever must be removed to install the handle. Slide the handles and use water/dish soap (not really necessary) if the friction is too much. Aside from my arm issue, the cable, caliper, pads and attached parts all appear to be very good (including locknuts, front fork bolts, rear bolts and tons of cables). This braking system uses a center pin system so make sure your bike has holes for this rather than V-brakes or cantilever mounts on each side of the fork or seatstays. This was a good setting for my child's bike. As mentioned in another review, no instructions are included. For installation, you can refer to the YouTube video. I had to cut the cable and remove the excess. Just make sure there is enough cable to turn the handlebars. I used zip ties (not included) to secure the cable to the bike frame for a neat finish. I would prefer if the manufacturer sold the left and right versions separately. (-1 star) Because this set includes everything except the zip ties, it gets 4 stars. The brake pads grip well, but hardly lock the rim like a V-brake.
