moderately hard and warm heating so far, tricks don't really work as expected.

Good heater, I've had it for a few weeks. The oscillator ran all night last night and just broke but the rest of the heater still works like new. I'm not upset about the lack of hesitation, I've never used this feature anyway. Time will tell and I'll come back and post a review if anything else breaks. I have a few complaints ie it doesn't quite work the way you might expect. basically the thermometer doesn't do anything, my previous heater switches off when it has reached its target temperature, this one continues to heat well above the target temperature. So if the thermostat is set at 70, it can overheat the room to 80. Another small flaw is that you cannot use it in timer mode and antifreeze mode at the same time. My scenario is: I want the heater to turn on in case the propane heater goes off while I sleep (freeze protection mode), but I also want it to turn on automatically (timer mode) about an hour before getting up, this heater, although it has both these options, does not have the ability to do both. Timer - either turns on the heater that is off, or turns off the heater on after a specified time. Edit* works fine. Heats the van to 70+ when it's 30+ beyond anything below 30 and it doesn't heat the room as much past 60 as if I turn it on myself it will heat one side of me.

Pros
  • Prevents pipes from freezing When the temperature drops below freezing, the standby mode automatically heats up the heater - ideal for keeping pipes from freezing in basements
Cons
