Rough, loose fabric.
I wasn't expecting this. The weave is quite loose and very coarse. It is almost impossible to transfer a detailed pattern. It won't work for my embroidery project, but it will be enough for my kids to have fun. I ordered ivory, but that's more what I would call "natural". I add a cropped image with 1 inch lines for scale and comparison to the fabric I used for the embroidery (white).
