Review on Creative Home Tribute Stainless Whistling by Erin Ellis

I took a chance and bought this kettle although there were no reviews on it yet. I followed the manufacturer's description. I have used kettles all my life and I know all the features we need in a kettle to be happy. Unfortunately I have to return this kettle. Here's why: 1. This is not a 2.4Qt. Capacity. Since this is a kettle with a whistle, you can only fill it up to the neck, otherwise the whistle will not whistle. Well, this one only has 1.75 (exactly 7 cups) capacity when filled to the bottom of the spout.2. The whistle blows, but the sound is not loud. However, if you press the lid while the water is boiling, it whistles nicely. This means that the lid does not close tightly and when the water boils some steam escapes, reducing the pressure inside the kettle and preventing the whistle from making a loud noise.3. Although the bottom diameter of this kettle is the same as my old one, it takes more than a minute to boil 3 cups of water on a ceramic hob.4. While the water is being brought to a boil but before it boils, strange noises can be heard from the kettle. As I said, I'm sending the kettle back. Back to the beginning, looking for a new one.
