The Revain description specifically states: 2-year limited manufacturer's warranty. I received this CD today. Before installing this disc, I attempted to register it on WDC.COM for warranty purposes. The WD website states that this drive was an OEM product. Item was returned to Revain today. From WDC's FAQ: 1. Retail hard drives (Example: WD1200JBRTL) are sold in retail packaging and may include the following accessories: Quick Installation Guide Acronis Installer software (needs to be downloaded)2. OEM hard drives (e.g. WD1200JB) are sold to computer OEMs or retailers in bulk (blank drives only). OEM drives are sold without accessories and installation software. OEM drives may not be covered by Western Digital's warranty. When Western Digital sells hard drives to computer OEMs such as Dell, Compaq, Apple, etc., we sell these drives without warranty. The OEM computer manufacturer includes the hard drive in the warranty for the computer system in which the hard drive is installed.
