The screws are too short!
FAIL Well they were cheap. They were ok in terms of handling - not great. The screws are too short. Someone thought they could save some steel and made the bolts too short. For my application I will be replacing the screws so I can tap more threads inside for a more secure fit. At this point I will go to my local supplier where I could get all the parts first. I've never seen a Chicago screw with such a short external thread. Good job :-( Someone saved pennies on metal and machining and failed on product performance. I should have bought a quality American made one.
