Snap Hook: the perfect stress reliever

I decided to try the snap hook to relieve stress and it worked great. I work a stressful job, so I sometimes carry that stress around with me in my inner city. It's hard to just sit back and relax. This project turned out to be a great way to keep my hands busy while I'm watching TV or movies, listening to music, or whatever I'm doing. I used to make a snap hook when I was a kid, so that's a long time ago, but it was as simple as I remembered: you pull the hook through the stitch, wrap the yarn around the hook, and then pull it through. (Repeat the same process thousands upon thousands of times!) The numbering system put me off at first because I was expecting the design to be printed directly to the screen. Now they provide a grid of numbers printed on paper. This turned out not to be a big problem. Once I became familiar with how to read the grid (and how to lay out rows, which I already did), I really got into the process. There was something about the tactile repetition that was almost like meditation for me: it slowed my mind and allowed me to relax. This is the perfect sizing project for beginners. It's not too big and not too small and I like dogs so it was fun to see the shape emerge. Again, I highly recommend trying this out for those who like to keep their hands busy.
