Top and bottom lights / good for study sessions

Great product for school or home use. This microscope has good focus and is easy to use. To do this, place the sample directly on the beam path and switch on the illumination of your choice. Manually set the height to an approximate value, then use the right eye to fine-tune the mechanical setting. When you are focused, adjust the left eyepiece. There are two lighting options: (1) An overhead light allows you to view opaque objects such as rocks or insect parts. (2) The bottom light is for observing transparent things such as water droplets from a lake or a cell sample normally enclosed between glass slides. It's not really intended for serious lab work, as it lacks higher resolution, a mechanical stage, a fine and coarse focus option, or a way to take pictures. But it's well done and appropriate for middle and high school students learning how the world works. If you want to use it for children's educational activities, you will also need additional materials such as microscope slides, petri dishes, and sample samples.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
