Let's start with the good: - Bright LEDs. They are dimmed via a remote control built into the cable. They get very bright at high frequencies, which is great! - Adjustable color temperature. It's great to sort them for your specific needs and/or tweak the rest of the lights. A very desirable trait. - Many accessories allow you to use it for a variety of purposes. The following is bad: - No power adapter. All you get is a USB port that you need to plug into your computer or an existing USB power adapter. - Fragile twist function to tighten the telescopic pole. The insides of this one are obviously plastic and they are VERY inconsistent. It's not a quick twist to unlock and twist to tighten. You often have to unlock and lock each individual piece and it does NOT go smoothly. I have a feeling it can break easily. - The tripod is shaky and cheap. The metal legs are so thin I almost cut myself trying to open them. Very cheap, thin metal that's even slightly sharp. It will NOT do a good job of mounting the device if it is stretched very far. - The included phone holders use a very cheap spring mechanism that can cause squeaks and creaks when you open it to insert your phone. Absolutely I wouldn't trust this to hold anything too valuable. - Cable length and remote positioning. Since the remote is hardwired directly to the cable and about 1/4 way up the USB port, it will be difficult to incorporate into some of your setups. Not a big deal for a setup that gets set up and broken frequently, but for a desktop setup, putting the remote in a USEFUL place is a challenge, especially if your only option is to plug it into a computer (think to the desktop under the computer). . Table). All in all, this is not a recommended option. The ring light itself is actually very good, but it's designed to work with the rest of the accessories and the threaded connector on the light doesn't fit a universal/standard tripod size. So while you can find an adapter and use your own hardware, it defeats the purpose of the kit approach. I would save my money and look for one of the higher quality kits. Many people recommend the kit below, but it is significantly more expensive and has more light (18 inches).
