I don't know how and why I managed without a dandy brush! I mostly cook on cast iron. It doesn't need a lot of cleaning, but if it does, I don't want to soak, peel, or damage the spice in any way. This brush offers just the right hardness to achieve this goal. The grip is very ergonomic and if I need to put more pressure on something I can choke right over the hand and lean heavily. It also has a handle that's long enough for me to use water that's so hot I can't put my hands in it. I use this thing several times a day, it's heavy - it holds up well and surprisingly the handle isn't broken.
