Review on 🔌 IOGEAR Universal 5-Port Wi-Fi N Ethernet Hub GWU647 (Black): Enhanced Connectivity and Networking Experience by Jerome Pritchard

I was looking for an ethernet hub to connect to my Sony Blu-Ray changer and Direct TV box so I can download Direct TV movies faster and Blue -Ray-DVD can download pictures and notes. I recently upgraded my DSL internet to 1 Gigabit speed. I have used Sling Media boxes to make two devices wireless for the reasons above. They are obsolete with the update. While looking for a replacement I saw an IOGEAR 5 port hub and thought it would be a great replacement. Reading the reviews I was confident that this would be the solution and when I saw that IOGEAR was actively answering some of the reviewers' questions I was really impressed. The construction went very quickly. Within 5 minutes the hub received my IP information and when I went to the menu of the two devices to verify they had the correct IP information. I had a router with WPS, so I used that method during setup. But when I tried to run the download/download I got an error message saying the internet could not be found. I checked that the WPS button was selected, but that still didn't fix the message. Tried without deleting the WPS button and still no internet. Rebooted the router, rebooted the hub, hardbooted the hub, but still no internet found. I've seen IOGEAR give email addresses to some reviewers and encourage them to report their problems/experiences. I have emailed them and received an automated response which I will receive from them within 24 hours. That didn't happen. I'll try a few more things to try and get it working, but if it doesn't work I have no choice but to send it back. I use my home wireless network for my security cameras, security system, work VPN, laptop, desktop, mobile phone and a few tablets, so I'm having trouble understanding why this hub isn't working. I can't give a bad review just because I couldn't get it to work and it quickly got my IP information. I am disappointed that IOGEAR did not reply to my email. Robert LUpdate: I received an email from IOGEAR. You said to do a manual setup. I'll try. They also said they could guide me and gave me 866 to call. I will keep you up-to-date. Update: Passed Iogear manual setup. When setting up, make sure that you enter the IP address for access to the site map in the address bar of the browser and not via a search engine such as e.g. e.g. Google. First it didn't find my wireless network. I had to reset it and replace the ethernet cable that came with the hub with my own. Fetching the website worked and my wireless network was configured on the hub. It still didn't allow my devices to find the internet. I bought a similar device offered by DirecTV that works with the Directv box and it found the internet right away. I connected this device to my BlueRay Changer and it found the internet even without any setup. I still think the hub is useful because it detects my wireless address but doesn't take any extra steps and prevent devices from finding the internet.
