Review on Rugged Ridge 2.5 Inch Suspension Lift Kit with Shocks for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK by David Lamfers

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Two-door jeep? Maybe look elsewhere.

Pros:* does what it's supposed to, lifts the jeep* includes shock absorbers* installed it myself over the weekend* drove it a few times with no problems Cons:* it was missing some components (mainly bolts or nuts available at local hardware store but also missing rear tie rod breaker bushings. Contacted seller, they said they contacted the factory and it was in the post a few weeks ago. I don't expect this to be shown at this point.)* Instructions for 4 doors. The instructions were not included for the 2-door version. This made a small difference when installing the bracket to move the rear cross member. The instructions tell you to mount the trackbar in the down position; It just doesn't work for a 2-door configuration. A lot of time was wasted trying to figure it out. * Bracket that bolts to the diff, goofy and difficult to install. Especially if you're trying to use the lower mounting hole mentioned above.* The rear spring mounting kit is nearly impossible to install! I got it after a brilliant idea. Thread 2-3 10+ foot lengths of line through all of the bolts, washers and spring mount, then tie the ends to the end of the bolt. Distribute them along the radius of the bolt so it threads through everything when you pull it. Still painful, but not impossible. * Riding is hard, maybe the weight of the armor and the girl will help, I don't know. A 4-door setup may produce different results.

Pros
  • Shocks, struts and suspension
Cons
  • Everything OK
