Not absorbent at all
I bought these based on previous good quality cotton kitchen towels with a similar appearance. I don't know what they did with it, but they repel water instead of absorbing it. I have washed and dried them like my previous similar kitchen towels and they have not shrunk or softened at all. I'm very skeptical of the 100% cotton claim - I've never seen a cotton product that doesn't shrink. The only reason I gave it 4 stars for durability is that after a few months of use they look the same as they did in the box. I will never buy products from this company again.
