Surface RT: Somewhat limited entertainment but great for work/school

Overall, this tablet lives up to my expectations. I decided to forgo the high cost of accessories and order a BT keyboard, mouse and case from a third party. Microsoft accessories for this tablet can add up quickly. This Surface RT was great with the full office suite included, and I mainly used it during my grad school for taking notes and browsing the web. The biggest place this tablet is missing is the App Store. Compared to the Google Play Store and iTunes Store, the choice for Windows is pathetic. I was able to download the Ultimate Guitar app, but things like Snapchat, Clash of Clans, and other seemingly mainstream apps weren't available. This led me to the current search for a different tablet for entertainment purposes. Apps like Netflix and Youtube worked well and I had no problems streaming except when the internet itself was slow. This RT is great for schoolwork and as a replacement for my old HP computer that died but had some limitations (the whole phrase "a tablet that can replace your computer" is pretty true). The tablet slowed down as I did to the point where pages would sometimes freeze and navigation would become slower. I also don't care how the desktop and tile views are separated, especially in relation to Internet Explorer (IE). I prefer the desktop view, and the tile view takes quite a bit of getting used to. You can open items in IE on the desktop or on the tiled screen, which is treated as two different places. Sometimes, depending on what app or section I'm in, the links I click open in IE for the tile view rather than the desktop as I want. It would be better if these two IEs were seamless and only opened in one view to make things easier. You may get pages in two different browsers, which is difficult when both need to be accessed at the same time. I like the ability to split the screen between apps. For example, you can have the desktop open with a Word document open on one side and your email or IE browser open on the other half of the screen. It's very efficient and definitely a plus. If you are looking for a tablet primarily for work then I definitely recommend this tablet. It's great for PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc. This Surface RT is great for students or professionals. If you want more entertainment and the ability to download 3rd party apps (this device doesn't let you, only the App Store) I would either pay more for the Surface Pro or choose another tablet like an Android or Apple product, that it can offer better applications. Please let me know if you have any other questions about this Surface RT tablet.
