As the proud and longtime owner of the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x (wired), I am delighted with the quality of this headset. However, I needed a headset (i.e. a microphone) for work conferences. My requirements for a headset would be the same sound quality as the ATH-M50x (because when I'm not in conferences I'm listening to music), similar build quality, and the right price point. I saw the ATH-PG1 and it turned out to be a good candidate, so I bought it. One thing I always check before buying any speaker or headset is to check the specs. For headphones, I check driver size, attenuation measurements, power, anything and everything. But most important is the reaction area. I want to hear really high frequencies and really low frequencies. If you don't have it, the sound will just be muffled. I received the headset and tried it out. Build quality seems good, but it doesn't seem to be as light as the M50x. I connected the headset to the phone and turned on quality music and was immediately disappointed. I also tried connecting it to my computer and was disappointed again. I even tried tweaking and reconfiguring all the audio settings on both devices to make sure they were outputting the audio the way I wanted. The headphones just didn't give me the experience I was hoping for. Within 15-20 minutes of receiving these headphones, I repackaged them in the original packaging, requested a refund, and shipped them back.
