There are several issues here.1: The screws used to install these blocks are located just above and below the protruding pin that holds the cap or helmet. This means they are so close to the pin that you can't stick an electric drill in there to screw them in without an extension. And turn them by hand? Yes, #2: Not only is the top screw too close to the pin, it's also BEHIND the pin as it curves up. No matter what you do, extension or not, it will screw a little out of order, which can do more damage to your wall in the process. Because of the way they are designed, this is inevitable. This could have been avoided by slotting the top screw (which would also make leveling easier), as every curtain rod has done for at least the last two decades. Unfortunately it wasn't. So expect that you may have to fix this later. All in all they're not terrible and they'll be fine for my purposes, but I have a certain feeling I just didn't think about doing these well.
