Review on Magnetic Drain Plug Sump Bolt by Dean Ledet

As I expected this drain plug is aluminum although this is not stated anywhere in the description. I chose this because I liked the red color (restoration of an old golf cart), but aluminum is definitely not the ideal material for an oil drain plug. It's much softer than steel (slight thread distortion) and since many oil pans are cast aluminum there's twice as much chance of threads crossing. Add to that the fact that it's made in China so the red andozid doesn't appear very strong and the threads weren't cut cleanly, I regret that choice. Manual winding was quite difficult, probably due to the fact that the OD of the thread is a bit rough. Looks cool yes, functional no.
