Review on πŸ”¦ PowerKAN Scuba Torch Light: Diving Flashlight with Battery Level Indicator, 1300 Lumens, Underwater 100m/110yd by Joshua Turner

Fantastic little reversing light at a great price.

I was concerned as there were very few reviews at the time of purchase but $35 in the world of scuba products let alone flashlights is hardly a real financial risk so I decided to buying one and seeing for myself. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the packaging, the contents and the lighting itself. Before writing this review I waited until I actually used the flashlight in the water many times. My main light was significantly more expensive, but I didn't buy it as a main light; it's just redundancy. Although I have to admit this little light is surprisingly bright and does a great job with our often murky emerald waters. The push button switch has an LED ring around it that shows the remaining battery power (red or green), making checking gear on the surface quick and easy. The battery is rechargeable and the usual size for small dive lights so it's cheap to get a spare to keep in your rescue kit which I think is also a plus. (Actually, I already had a spare in my kit.) Goodman's soft grip is a great addition too, although I prefer to attach a spare with a simple stainless steel fastener. (For this purpose there is a well-drilled hole in the base of the lamp, through which two cables can be passed). The power/mode button also has a nice tactile "click" that I always appreciate in thick gloves. Cons: 1.) It's definitely a narrow beam, and there's also a specific hotspot that I always prefer not to see, but neither really surprises me given the price. It also doesn't affect my opinion of this flashlight much for my purposes as I use it as a backup light source. 2.) The body of the lantern is bolted together with two overlapping body parts in such a way that water and salt can easily become trapped if not rinsed and dried properly. Again, not a big deal, but definitely something to consider when cleaning and storing gear. These are only minor complaints about the fantastic price and reverse light. Definitely recommend as a cheap flashlight.
