First I would like to state that this works as intended. Setup is very easy and the devices have low power consumption. I use these devices to connect my NVR in my wiring closet to my bedroom TV's HDMI port. When I knock on the door, I just press a button on the remote control to see who is at the door. This device uses HDbitT multicast to send information to the recipient(s). Due to the amount of multicast traffic this device generates, I do not recommend using it with a network switch that cannot handle multicast data. If the switch doesn't support multicast, it still works by forwarding traffic to all ports on the switch, not just the one where the receivers are connected. This results in increased latency and unnecessary traffic on every segment of your switched network. This basically means that other devices on your network are less responsive and in some cases may not be responsive at all. Of course there is no problem if you use a straight Cat5E or better cable to connect the transmitter and receiver.
