Review on TYC 97017 EVAPORATOR by Michael Rasberry

Revainrating 5 out of 5

great product tricky install

$1200 to replace a leaking atomizer core in my 2004 GMC Yukon Denali? no thanks, I'll do it myself. I found some videos on YouTube describing how to do the swap. Mind you, I'm a car guy and do all my maintenance myself. Doing it the traditional way is a HUGE job. since my truck is old and doesn't cost much money, i took the easy route. I cut out a piece of dash support under the glove box, cut off the end of the evaporator core housing (large plastic box), replaced the assembly and repaired the plastic with a combination of foil, duct sealant and spray. Sealant. after evacuation and filling, the system blows pleasantly cool. Now if only my damper actuators would stop behaving.

Pros
  • atomizer and parts
Cons
  • reliability
