Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Efficient and Durable OrionMotorTech Heavy Removal Adapters for Trucks: Tools & Equipment by Daniel Morris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works only on 96 Chevy Astro

Lubricate the threads with a small amount of anti-seize lubricant before use. Also take out the small plunger (it just slides out) and put some fat in it. Use gloves as the threads are sharp. Be careful not to lose the small steel ball inside as this is the fulcrum for the print. I was a bit skeptical (based on other reviews) about this timing when replacing the 2 pressed-in lower ball joints and the 8 pressed-in upper and lower A-arm bushings. Just think about the process, use the right size parts, and go in the right direction. I did everything on a workbench but I will say it would have been easier to swap out the ball joints while the A-arms were still on the car. You can also put the elements on upside down, which I think the previous reviewer's picture of the inflated cylinder showed. Take a close look if you haven't done much of this in the past. If you clench your abdominal muscles too much and think they're going to snap, stop clenching them. Take a hammer and tap (hard) the hand next to the object you want to press and the vibration will help loosen it. Don't ride the press or the latch. I wish I could take a photo to show it all but after photographing the four A-arms and two rotors I just got into a rhythm and forgot. Guilty. However, if you want a device for home use then for the price this ticks all the boxes. If you need additional adapters, they will make another set in a larger size.

Pros
  • BALL JOINT SERVICE IMPORTANT TOOL - Use ORION MOTOR TECH Ball Joint Press Tool Set Ball Joint Removal Tool / Bushing Removal Tool with 4WD Adapter to effortlessly remove press-fit parts such as ball joints, universal joints, brake anchor pins. etc. on most 2WD and 4WD vehicles without removing the control arm from the vehicle.
Cons
  • Not the best
