Review on SEAFLO 55-Series 12V DC Diaphragm Pump With 5.5 GPM Flow And 60 PSI Pressure For Improved Marine And RV Water Systems Performance by Jose Ortega

2bd failure, lackluster customer support.

I would steer clear of Seaflo pumps. This is my 2nd Seaflo pump I've bought and each pump has failed and warranty support is lackluster. My first pump was a 33 series that I installed in out camper. It failed within a year and I left multiple messages and emails without any response. After about 4 weeks of no response I left a bad review on Amaxon and had an email that day offering help and asking me to consider changing my review. By that time I bought a Surflo pump locally and it's been going strong for 3 years. I kept the Seaflo 33 pump they sent me as a replacement in the closet just as an emergency backup.A few months ago I bought this 55 series to supply water pressure to our off grid home. It worked great for 2 months and now has issues. It's used to pressurize the 20 gal pressure tank up to 60 psi and once the pressure dropped to about 42 psi it would kick back on and kept the water supply strong and build the pressure back up to 60 psi.One day the water pressure was really weak and when I went and checked my pressure gauge it was at 22 psi. I checked all connections and had power to the unit so assumed it was dead. I started to drain the tank and system so I could go into town and buy another Surflo and as I started draining it it kicked on once it dropped below 20 psi. It built the pressure up to about 50 psi and cutoff. It is still working but not at the 40 to 60 psi range that it suppose to. After making several calls and messages to Seaflo with no response I called once more and someone actually picked up. The customer was support was the same as on my first Seaflo pump issue. They rely didnt seem to care and wanted to tell me that the unit is SUPPOSED to kick on at 20 psi so nothing was wrong. I asked why then was it kicking on at 40 psi for 2 months just as every other DC powered diaphragm pump I've ever owned does. He did not have an answer and just said he would have the Revain vendor reach out to me about a replacement. I have still not heard from them and this was not how warranty support operated before on my previous pump issue. We have a farm and have used several brands of pumps. Once I get this one replaced it will also go in the closet as an emergency backup and I will replace it with a better quality pump. I will not purchase anymore Seaflo pumps and would recommend staying with a better brand name that's been around longer and offers better support.

Pros
  • Great product easy to install
Cons
  • Bought 2 pumps both blew out within 4 months just moving water not even chemicals
