Review on ๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ Gizmo Dorks Translucent Filament Printers: Advanced Additive Manufacturing Solutions by John Bennett

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Incredibly fragile

I like the translucent coating and it prints fine, beautiful detail. I needed higher temperatures than Ultibot's Pla: 195 head/75 bed. But for some reason the filament becomes brittle when sitting in the car. I haven't had any crashes while printing, but now about five times after the print is done and the machine just stands still, the filament spontaneously breaks. For the next foot or two, the strands are fairly brittle (easily broken with your fingers), then they mostly become flexible again. So I cast out a few yards of thread and do the load-up ritual. I haven't stressed the built-in parts heavily yet, so I don't know if the output parts are brittle. On a scale of 0 (Hatchbox returned to Revain) to 10 (Ultibots) it's a 5: Fragile breakage is so annoying I only buy it again when I run out of filament and need another day of Revain. ----Update: Let's do it 2. I printed maybe 0.25kg. The first few prints, no problem. The filament then became brittle and broke after each print, for about ten more prints. Annoying because the filament has to be reloaded every time, but it hasn't messed up the print yet. Today it broke in the middle of a print and messed up the print so I pulled the spool out. Luckily a few spools of Ultibots filament arrived yesterday so I'm back to printing with good stuff. Looks like this coil is making a return to Revane. :in(
