This is a very well made tilt head that offers a very smooth tilt as well as a well designed quick release plate. If you've ever tried putting the quick release plate back into your head, this solves the problem and allows the user to open the shutter, attach the camera and close the shutter quickly and securely. To remove the camera, all you have to do is loosen the locking pin and slide it out of the head. I also found alignment tabs that can be pulled out on the quick release plate so it can be securely aligned with the camera. Note that this head is not panned. Panning is accomplished with the rotating arm of the Sirui monopod. I have found that the best way to use this head with a monopod is to tilt the monopod towards you with the ball on the base of the monopod (think the front leg of a tripod) and use the head tilt feature to line up your shot . . You are now effectively forming a tripod with the monopod as the front leg and yourself as the two back legs. Hope that helps.
