My fridge came with the house when I bought it 8 years ago. Has always worked great until the last 2 months. I was actually planning to buy a new fridge just because it's quite old, but with a supply chain this low, it was almost impossible to find one at the moment. and the temperature in the fridge was very high (my fridge has a digital temp and usually 0 in the freezer and 37 in the fridge). I could hear the compressor kicking on and the fridge trying to cool down. After doing a bit of research and reading online, I found that the condenser fan on the outside of the fridge wasn't working at all, so I replaced the fan I bought from Revain for $16. After replacement, the fan started to work and the refrigerator returned to normal ... about 8 days. This time the freezer temperature was too low and the fridge temperature too high. I checked again and the fan is still working. After doing more research I found that the Serpentine freezes in the freezer which is causing the problem. I bought this sensor for $6 and it was fairly easy to replace about 15 minutes after the freeze coil thawed with some fans. It's been over 2 weeks now and my fridge is a constant 37 degrees and my freezer is 0 degrees. Now the problem is solved and I hope to extend the life of this fridge instead of spending $1800 for a new one.
