Bought 2 of these to have an extra one as a backup. Neither of the 2 worked for me. Didn't return as I trimmed both cables. Later bought these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008YDSLTW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and so far so good but I don't think they are actually the advertised brand as the bags pack are generic without the usual manufacturer's mark.

I wasn't sure if I needed to replace the original sensor but I did. This new part works the same as the old part, so apparently that wasn't the problem. I was hoping I wouldn't have to call a mechanic, but this didn't make my fridge cool better or worse, so I scheduled a repair. It's probably a fully working item, but it wasn't the type of repair I needed.

Bought this item from another seller and it didn't work. The only difference I could see was that the wires were copper colored. I'm not exactly sure why it worked well. But this product worked great and seems to regulate the fridge better. Silver colored wires. I would recommend this thermistor to anyone who needs it. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because I only had it installed for a few days. So far, so good.

2 sensors replaced with these. I spent a week troubleshooting after replacing my GE fridge with these sensors. I never expected both to read 20F too high putting my fridge in all sorts of weird conditions. After a week of wasted time I ripped them out and tested them with an ohmmeter and both read 20F too high so it's not disconnected that's bad. Purchased genuine GE parts and they read correctly. BUYER BEWARE

Do yourself a HUGE favor and just find/buy a genuine part! You think you got the deal (save $10) but after 3 months this piece of junk is out of service! So frustrating! This temperature sensor is perfect for my side-by-side fridge freezer (GE GSHS6LGBBHSS). Also replaces the sensor on top of the freeze coils. Replacing it in the fridge took no more than 15 minutes (including disassembly) and worked great. The leads on this gauge are quite long - I cut about 6 inches extra to make it work in most situations. covered with shrink tubing. Try it. You will not be disappointed.
