I actually used it as a turtle bathing platform in a large tank for my red-eared slider. It's heavy and with all the sizes available I was able to choose the perfect thickness and dimensions for my project. Although it floats in the water, it doesn't have enough buoyancy to support the extra weight, so it's suspended above the water by aluminum poles. The plastic it was made of was very strong and dense, well accepted screws and holes drilled in it. Under hot full-spectrum UV lamp, it will not warp, crack or discolor and easy to clean. The surface was not smooth like glass, it had an embossed texture. It's a hygienic and safe platform for my purposes and I can order it for my kitchen.
