I have had a Kobalt vertical oil free air compressor for about 2 years. It has a cut-in pressure of 95psi and shuts off at 175psi. When I bought it I thought it was great. Now that I think about it, the compressor works and runs to bring the pressure to 175psi before shutting down. In other words, he's working a lot harder than he should, trying to get to 175psi. The higher the cut-off pressure, the harder the compressor has to work. Anyway, I replaced the original pressure sensor with this one. The compressor will now turn on at 110psi and start at 145psi. I think these are the best settings for this particular compressor. Now the compressor is off for another 5-6 minutes every time I use it. If you have one of those 20 gallon cobalt compressors, you might want to consider one of these for your compressor.
