Additional heat dissipation required
I used this voltage regulator as a power source for the battery charge regulator. The controller draws maximum power from the regulator until the batteries are charged. This means long continuous operation at full power. It is not enough to operate the device in a ventilated cabinet. It overheated and caused component failures and associated odors as electronic parts burned out. It can work well when mounted on an aluminum plate for additional heat dissipation, but it doesn't justify the cost for my application. .
