Review on ๐ŸŒฟ Shoyeido's Horikawa River Path Incense - Pack of 20 Sticks by Chantel Cooper

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One of Shoyeido's best products - buy it as a treat for yourself

I've been buying Shoyeido incense sticks for decades (only now did I realize that time flies since I started typing and, man, I get older and wiser!). I bought from them: - wood chips (Aloeswood is the best of it, albeit expensive); - pressed incense (looks beautiful - in the form of flowers); - Wash; - Different fragrances from different lines of embroidery (my favorite is from the MAGNIFICENT line, although HOPE comes second these days); and - your mixed incense (plum is my favorite; plum sticks, not so good). I have to say this is one of their best. It's quite amazing - almost ethereal. I bought it based on the reviews here; haven't snooped anywhere else. I'm glad I followed my instinct and other people's feedback. It's an absolute pleasure. I used the stopwatch on my phone to time a stick burn and it actually took 20 minutes - for the stick I burned, the product description was accurate. Yes, it's quite expensive as far as it's temporary. The event is happening (and none of their incense sticks are "cheap", but you get what you pay for and it's always worth it if you're a person who loves incense), but it's worth it. In my mind, images of a river (I live in a big city), more of a creek with the scent of lush autumn leaves accompanied by good, clean cinnamon (and I'm not a cinnamon fan). I also see a color close to burnt umber. It's an amazingly enjoyable experience and I hope everyone reading this will be inspired to embrace it.
