This is a very solid tool with a nice finish yet feels light in the hand. The basket is perfectly shaped for both scraping and scooping. The slots are just the right size for use with clumping clay putty - they easily pass through the putty and still retain even small bits of material you want to remove. You will notice that the handle is very long. This is great for getting extra reach or leverage if you desire. The handle has been given a nice soft touch. This and every other long-handled shovel has two other things to keep in mind. First, maneuvering this longer shovel in the tight confines of the top-entry tray can be a little tricky. This works, but you may need to adjust the procedure. Second, the longer handle means the weight of the material you're scooping puts extra force on your gripping hand. This long handle model may be more difficult to use for a person with a weak grip. Just a little "choke" and it's good.
