This item is so basic it doesn't seem worth the price but I can report that this is definitely one of those cases where you can trust the reviews. It's hard to fully appreciate it without holding it in your hands, and I remained completely skeptical until the first cut when I realized...hey. It's not just a recycled pen. This is a cutting attachment with built in safety features. The price is high and I was skeptical but the value is there. Not only does it replace the blade guard, pen board, and pusher, but the device itself works better than using the three together. This gives you control of the work piece along the entire length of the cut and allows you to make cuts that would otherwise be too risky - with total control. This control also makes your cuts more precise. The use on a milling table or jointer is not even counted. For a simple little plastic device, this is great value. Of course the price is too high. But the developers of this article deserved their money in my opinion. They have created a simple tool that makes the risky task much safer. I buy a second one. I think my fingers are worth it.
