Excellent thermometer. Another brand we had for years ended up breaking so we had to buy a new one. I did a lot of research and settled on this one hoping it would work properly. We've used it quite a bit since we got it and it works great. It's easier to read than our old one. The tab on the side is a very useful feature because we can set the temperature we want and when the needle reaches that point we know it's ready. This makes it very easy to see if the temperature of the meat is right. We also like the adjustable feature. I boiled water, held it until the arrow stopped moving; There is a mark on the dial that shows where the arrow should be in boiling water. If it doesn't, all I have to do is turn the nut below to adjust the needle at that point. Ours didn't need to be adjusted. We are very happy with it.
