I chose these after making the mistake of trying an aftermarket set of ceramic pads that didn't have the stopping power my Avalanche needed. The original OEM pads still had a lifetime of 6 mm. You, and as you all know, OEM ACDelco pads are expensive. The aftermarket pads were highly recommended and sold by the sports car club so I tried the kit, not a good experience, they didn't even activate the anti-lock braking system. no matter what, even on a gravel road. They only drove 200 miles after hearing how much better they would be if they put in a few miles. No! Yes, some sports car drivers have used the recommended pads for their pickups. All I can say is they don't need to know what a good set of brakes is. I decided to try the Advantage series and I'm glad I did, the difference is day and night, the heavy Avalanche is the Southern Comfort version with 20" wheels. Wheels and feels normal again now, just touch the brake pedal and the overall smoothness of the stopping power will be apparent. I was afraid to drag my bass boat with aftermarket pads installed. No longer! Only time will tell the mileage of the Advantage Series pads but I can assure you they are exactly the same as the OEM ones so give them a try.
