I have a Sharp model LC-60E78UN which I bought in 2012 and which is specifically listed here as compatible. This is not a universal programmable remote - there are basically 4 modes for different Sharp models and they are literally printed on the back of the remote. The default mode is "1", which is good for most models. It worked fine for me except "Menu" didn't work. I switched to mode "2" and everything works great! I highly recommend this remote control if you have a Sharp LCD TV and your model is specifically listed here. Much better than the fancy remote control that originally came with the TV.
