Review on Caron Jumbo Ombre Yarn - Baby Rainbow, 12 oz - 1 Ball by Amber Perez

Arrived next day which was Sunday. I still don't know how it happened. The seller is excellent and the price is good. The yarn came in plastic wrap so it was protected. Now for the yarn. it is a very light yarn. I use it for Tunisian crochet as this style of crochet is very tight and projects can get difficult. The colorfulness is good. The yarn is soft but breaks fairly easily, but I find using bamboo needles helps with that. The yarn has more "stretch" in contrast to other yarns which are much stiffer. I'm afraid it can get very addictive once the project is complete, but that remains to be seen as I'm not done yet. This is the right weight for a Tunisian and is great for baby blankets. I tried a corner to corner pattern and found the yarn to be too fine for an adult afghan. Added a few photos so you can see what the variegation looks like. I love working with this yarn even though I have a little split problem. If you catch the loops correctly, you can avoid the line. I don't know how to say it better. Some of the strands are great, no knots and easy to find the end, others are a headache and tied in the middle and difficult to find the beginning thread, it's a tie. I find this to be true of most of the yarns I work with. The colors are beautiful, there is turquoise, white, brown and navy blue. I'm afraid the photos don't do it justice. If this yarn doesn't snag, I'll use it again. Ideal for Tunisian Afghan Hounds. I made a full size comforter out of 1 pound Caron yarn with a DC stitch pattern and when I finished it weighed 9 pounds and is too heavy to use as a comforter.
