I bought this item to help an abandoned Maine Coon cat live in my garden. Over the years I have provided her with blankets and padding. She allowed me to feed her cat food (both canned and dry) that I bought her. If I made the mistake of leaving my backyard door open, she'd come in and wander around my house out of curiosity, but she'd never let me catch her. She always used this house as her "sanctuary" and a place where she knew she would be fine, sadly she died a few years later. I still have a house because it is very strong and just beautiful. I would also suggest that while it's perfect as a dog house, it works well for cats too.
