Sectional door dimensions in instructions may be inaccurate - 90 " too far from back wall

Ordered two of these - one for each side of a double wing overhead door for any vehicle using this door The first pack, the one I opened had three screw lugs, a ball attached with a long string, and installation instructions. The second package (box) was missing 3 eyelets, one of the reasons I didn't give it 5 stars, and also the fact that if I didn't have an assortment of screw eyelets, the dimensions given in the instructions would not apply to my application I didn't install the second ball, the kit costs less than a dollar, but the inconvenience factor is still high. I was able to install both balls to fall exactly where I wanted them, so the vehicles weren't just spaced from the front wall of the garage stand e I wanted, but also located on the side when using the ball as a poi to aim. Not suitable for certain locations on the vehicle's dashboard - a speaker on one of the vehicles and a seam on the dashboard on the other. The spring clip is a good tool to hold the line in the grommets before tying the line into the attached grommet. to the garage door. Center tab placement is critical, the instructions told me to place it 90 inches from the back wall of the garage. That was wrong - she was about 8 inches farther from the back wall. With this dimension - with the ball at the right height - the rope would be too short when the door was closed. I stopped the garage door about 8 inches from closing. and the ball hit the ceiling. Why did I use a clamp to secure the rope in the garage door eyelet instead of tying it up. My center tab needed to be about 8 inches from the top of the door when the door was open (about 82 inches from the back wall) - this will lengthen the cord and leave space between the ball and the ceiling when the door is open. the door is closed. FOR INSTALLATION: I recommend measuring how far the ball should be from the front wall of the garage, then installing the eyelet on top of the ball first, then installing the eyelet on top of the garage door with the door open. Next, close the door. Temporarily thread the cord through the first grommet and attach to the garage door grommet by wrapping it around the grommet and squeezing - the actual height of the ball at this point is not critical as it forms a straight line for all three loops Are defined. . The center eye is placed just above the cord. You can open the grommet slightly to allow the cord to be inserted after securing it to the ceiling, or simply thread it back through the grommet after removing the cord from the garage door. (I used needle nose pliers to pry the grommet to avoid reconnecting with the garage door grommet.) In my case, the grommet was 8 inches behind the front edge of the door when open. Yours may be different. (I had extra grommets - so I added an extra hinge first due to incorrect placement per the instructions.) Close the door to place the center hinge - as the door gets in the way when open. Thread the rope through the newly installed eyelet. Loosen the clamp on the door nose and adjust the height of the ball. Then clip it back into the door nose. Close the door but be prepared to stop it when the ball hits the top of the door. Ceiling before the door is fully closed Make a final adjustment to the length of the rope and finally cut it to the desired length and attach it to the door grommet. always hangs down - you can just hang it up by the first loop. I'm happy and just enjoying watching the balls go off when the door is opened - so it was worth the installation process.
