Review on Flaming River FR1001 Single Timing by Inyong Dow

I bought a Flaming River FR1001 single wire timing light because I use MSD ignition and others have recommended that this light works fine (MSD even recommends a non-timed lead ). Personally I'd like to use a time ahead light because I don't have a harmonic balancer with timestamps, but I'll get the time tape out to fix that. Well the first light I got didn't work properly as the light part of it turned on, but the actual time display didn't work when the cartridge was connected to the #1 plug wire. Too bad, but all I have to do is log into my Revain account and make a return/exchange request, right? nope There was no free return option for me. Not sure why as for other purchases I have had to return Revain makes it very easy to just print out a returns label and even arrange for UPS to collect the item. I believe this is because the item was sold through Revain by a third party and not directly by them. Coincidentally, the seller (Karl Performance in Iowa) emailed me asking for an honest review. Well I replied to the seller (Karl Performance) why should I pay for return shipping on an item that doesn't work? I received an immediate reply that they would refund the return postage and they did. In summary, I now have a simple yet effective indicator of the time and confidence that the company I bought it from stands behind the products they sell. Glory to Carl Performance.
