Its core is not good for tires and tubes

So I had high hopes for this outing. on paper it was a winner. Light weight, air pockets at top and bottom etc. Came (for obvious reasons) in a folding box. I unwrapped a set of 27.5 wheels and wrapped them around it to see if the wrinkles would smooth out, but they didn't. After two weeks in the circle, they still wanted to be a square. I bought a new Maxis Minion DHF and DHR (2.35) at my local bike shop, plus everything I need to make Mavic Crossmax PRO carbon fin tubes. took the wheels home, mounted them on my bike and went for a ride (25psi), the wheel wobbled which i noticed while riding. took the wheels back to the shop to be aligned (new wheels may need to be tightened). They weren't rims, they weren't tires, let's just say, but the inserts in the tires were still bent, causing the tire to deform and look like it was a place that needed clearing. LBS went through the wheels ($60) and had the same problem with tires installed, inserts out, no wobble - insert and wobble is back. need (want) inserts to protect my new carbon rims, but feel like beta testing the product - 1 star for concept, 1 star for protection offered, deduct 3 stars for feature - better shipping packaging could solve this problem solve. I forgot to mention the time to do a round trip with LBS. I missed my return window by 3 days.

Pros
  • Tires and tubes
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
