I'm using a Lightning extension cable (not Apple) with a Belkin ethernet adapter (black cable in pictures) and it goes both data as well as via electricity. I have an official Apple 12W power adapter connected to the Belkin adapter itself. When using AT&T Fiber 1 Gbps service, my download and upload speeds average 150-200 Mbps when using an Ethernet adapter. From what others have said, this is a limitation between Apple and Belkin hardware. I can get much faster speeds when using Wi-Fi, but speeds over 100Mbps are sufficient for my use and I prefer the reliability of a wired connection. Adapter Belkin 4 stars. I understand you get what you pay for, but this item is a bit overpriced. You won't get the advertised 480Mbps speeds, and the cable on the adapter is quite short and likely to fray when used with a tablet stand (which is why I also opted for an extension cable).
