
As already mentioned, they are incorrectly connected. The yellow lights work as brake lights and the red lights as turn signals. When you turn on the headlights, the red lights come on at full brightness, making it seem like you've got your brakes on, until you slam on the brakes and the amber lights come on, confusing you all even more.
