I have tested this thoroughly with the supplied power adapter and USB cable as well as my own tested cables and power adapter and found the following issues. I've used various combinations of 2.5" HDDs and SSDs and 3.5" HDDs. I tested all ports on an XPS 9560 and also through a separate Thunderbolt dock. I have the same results every time.1. The driving performance was terrible. It could only spurt up to the expected speed and then immediately drop to zero, freeze, and then pick up speed again, resulting in double the transfer time (half the speed overall) on large transfers.2. Any load on both drives would result in both being disconnected from the system during the transfer. Not only is this a massive PITA, but it can also result in data loss depending on what's happening at the time of shutdown and what features you have enabled on the drive.3. Inserting a second drive while one is already docked and connected to the OS will cause the first drive to be unmounted and take some time to sort before both drives are mounted. Removing the hard drive does the same thing - the remaining hard drive is unmounted.4. Also (and I kind of knew that when I bought it) it's pretty cheap, flimsy, flimsy plastic. It's not terrible, but it definitely doesn't give me confidence in the quality when worn or used. 2.5" drives don't fit either, so be careful when inserting and removing. I really wanted 2 drawers but my 1 drawer toaster years ago was much more reliable and faster. I've read good reviews about the new OWC USB-C Dock (Gen 2), but it costs about four times as much. Maybe you just get what you pay for. In the meantime I'll send it back. As far as my needs go, this thing is useless.
