Review on πŸ€– Greenworks GRV-1010 Robot Vacuum: Powerful Self-Charging Smart Cleaner for Pet Hair, Hard Floors, and Carpet by Robin Haynes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Best robot vacuum for the price

This is the fifth robot vacuum I've tried and it shares 1st and 2nd place with a much more expensive device. praise Greenworks for their WiFi/app. NO other device I tried was able to connect to my network as most IoT devices require you to be on a dedicated 2.4GHz channel to set them up. My router combines the 2.4 and 5.1 bands and I can't manually choose which one to use. This device found the 2.4 band on its own and then connected to my phone while I was still reading the manual to figure out how to get by without the app. So this is the first device that I had to test not only with the remote control or the built-in controls. Here are the rest of the pros and cons: PROS * Scratch back and forth instead of a random pattern. Random units always seem to hit the same spot 5 times, missing the chaos just a foot away. There are also nice back and forth suction marks that show the world you took the time to clean.* Excellent suction power. I was impressed with the amount of debris it picked up on the first pass and then when I emptied the bin I found that most of the suction power was lost to a large piece of plastic stuck in the inlet. It handled new carpets, 20-year-old carpets, and hardwood floors just as well, traversing the floor transitions between them with ease. * Relatively quiet. I've reviewed vacuum cleaners ranging from "don't interrupt my sleep" to "the plane takes off next door". This vacuum is a little quieter than the stationary vacuums I replace with it, which is great in terms of suction power.* A pony trick. I know this seems like a downside, but I don't like the mop heads on robot vacuums. They don't do a very good job, and attaching the mop and then cleaning up takes more time than just mopping the floor itself.* The app is connected! more full. I was able to see where it was in my room (which was fun, my wife and I spent a few minutes watching it on the map), send it back to base, check the battery, etc. But some of the more expensive ones Units (their apps I couldn't use) had the ability to designate rooms/areas for cleaning by drawing a line on the map to create a virtual "wall". I left the bathroom door wide open in hopes of removing the litter box. Unfortunately the powder room is against a wall at a 45 degree angle from where the vacuum started. This meant that when attempting to correct course to deal with the angle of the wall, he missed the open door completely and went straight into the powder. Of course, the high-quality device corrected in smaller steps and found the powder. And it really is. More pros than cons. If the app was a little bit better or if it found the toilet, this would be my winner head and shoulders over everything I've tried. So I 100% recommend it for people on a budget. If money isn't an issue, find one with the features you want and spend accordingly.
