Review on Technivorm Moccamaster 30062 Glass Carafe by Michael Tegan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The handle needs to be attached differently.

I love the coffee maker this carafe needs. I'm not very happy with the way the handle attaches to the carafe. I have just ordered my third decanter because my spare part broke yesterday. There is a ledge inside and outside where the handle is attached to the carafe. This causes water to spill out after washing if you turn the carafe right side up (assuming you dry it upside down). I ordered a replacement carafe after receiving the coffee maker and carafe due to this design flaw. I hand wash the carafe every day and put it upside down in the dryer. I let the dishes air dry as towels can harbor germs. After several hours of draining, I turn the carafe right side up (this is where the water that has pooled at the neck flows in and out). I place a clean paper towel in the decanter to soak up the water that drips in. Then it drips outside and in the morning the carafe is clean and dry for my newest coffee pot. This procedure is inconvenient and I hope that the problem will be solved. The glass of the carafe is quite durable. The only problem is how the handle is attached.
