Review on 🥦 Humble House SAUERKROCK Fermentation Crock with Glazed Weights and Cabbage Tamper - 2 Liter (0.5 Gallon) German-Style Water Sealed Jar in Traditional Brown for Fermenting Sauerkraut, Kimchi, and Pickles by Patricia Davis

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Unsatisfied. Interestingly it was a return, sold as new due to sticky residue in the lid.

When I buy a glazed item, I know it may not be perfect, but I expect it to be pretty good. If there are chips or scratches on anything, I'd rather have it done over time and with use than have it arrive already chipped on the surface and slightly scratched before use. The issues with this shard may seem minor to some (and not easy to photograph), but if I were in a store and had several options to choose from, I wouldn't spend more than a few seconds looking through it before putting it back in Regal and look for another. On the surface there are places where the glaze does not come from, small scratches, the glaze is uneven, there is a small chip on the bottom, some kind of sediment in the lid. There was a dark brown stain on the Sighing Stone. With some leftovers in the lid, I'm wondering if the fermenting jug is new. I've started returning it to Revain but may choose to keep this despite the chip, scratches and sticky residue only because I can wash off the residue (which I find a bit unsightly) and there's no guarantee if I do order a second time. There will be no finish/scratch issues. I took a few photos, but due to the color of the shard and the lighting, I wasn't able to photograph everything.
