As a Gen1/2 PMT optic owner, I had no idea that this digital IR night vision scope would perform so well at a hundred or so yards. Very impressive. The build quality is high, at least on the outside and in accessible places. Beautiful design, easy to use. The grayscale image is bright and clear, the resistance to blur caused by light in the field of view is good, much better than PMT-based devices. And unlike PMTs, you don't damage the sensor with bright light. But it depends entirely on its large arrays of IR diodes that use 8 AA batteries, making the device quite heavy for prolonged use. I have trouble focusing at close range and the eyecup is large enough to allow me to wear glasses and see clearly.
