Two products, two tests.

Please Note: There are two products here, reviews are combined for both products. I bought both and will check them out here. First the actual HUD and display. Easy installation (hiding the wire wouldn't be fun), nice bright display (haven't had a chance to try it on a non-cloudy day yet, but I know from experience that if I can't see it, I stick the included one reflective/tinted film on the windshield and all is well. If, as mentioned in another review, you only want to see part of the display, you can simply cover the parts you don't want to see and cut your tint film accordingly to. I just ordered a second one for our second car. I will try to never drive without a hud in my car again. Now screen and smartphone holder: It's fine to use with smartphones as long as your phone has an app with hud mode Waze, Google Maps and Apple Maps are NOT, so if your app of that choice has that mode, or if your jailbroken Android or iPhone has that option, great if not, you're out of luck. I saw the screen/mount and the HUD/display at the same time and figured if the display in my pickup truck was too dark or too tall I would mount the HUD unit and voila. What I didn't expect was that Scosche designed these items to NOT work together. The power/data cable exits the HUD on the side of the windshield, which is EXACTLY where the display hinge on the mount/screen is. It captures that idea very well. Too bad because it would be very easy for Scosche to have two great products that work great together. Here's what they need to change: The input to the HUD unit can't be on the side of the windshield, make it to the left when you're sitting in the car, preferably with a 90 degree cord on the other end, around the cord to run along the base of the windshield. Then the two products could work as they should work together. To improve the mount/screen they need to redesign the hinge and screen so you can lift the screen off the base to get a larger projected image. HUD Block, it would be nice if the two sub-displays that are already switching had an option to select 'Off' for those who don't want to see water temp and battery voltage. Since GPS is already present, it would also be nice if the compass display were also operated via GPS in OBD2 mode. Please note that most of my suggestions are software related and can now be implemented without any modifications to existing industrial products. Fix them, Skosche.
